"Help Ukraine" ticket - SNCB

Trein met vlag Oekraïne

Message form the SNCB

SNCB and its employees are deeply affected by the situation in Ukraine. Inhabitants of the war-torn country have fled and are currently looking for a safe haven in other European countries. Together with other European railway companies, SNCB wants to show its solidarity by making this journey as smooth and safe as possible. Refugees from Ukraine can therefore use the train services of SNCB free of charge from today/Tuesday.

Our colleagues from Deutsche Bahn (DB) are offering a special "Helpukraine" ticket to refugees from Ukraine that allows them to travel free of charge through Germany on their way to their onward destination, which can also take them into or through Belgium.

Refugees from Ukraine can therefore use all domestic trains of SNCB (as well as SNCB's cross-border trains to/from Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France) free of charge from Tuesday, 1 March onwards, upon presentation of the DB "Helpukraine" ticket and their passport or identity card (in accordance with the conditions of the helpukraine ticket issued by DB).

Concrete modalities may still evolve in the following days/weeks depending on the situation.
